php5-fpm stops working

I'm having issues with php5-fpm. Here's what I've got

   - VPS - DigitalOcean
   - Ubuntu 14.04
   - 512MB RAM
   - Nginx
   - MySQL
   - PHP5 - php5-fpm
   - WordPress

*Problem*
The php5-fpm process stops working. The service is still running but I
can't access the website without restarting php5-fpm. Its fine for a while
but at some point it will stop working. I have no idea why.

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
