Download error in package updater

Something similar happened to me. I did not hand-edit files, but used the
tab at Software Updater -> Settings -> Other Software to disable Chrome
updates. So Chrome runs, but updates are no longer attempted.

I also notice that Google warned that they'd drop support for 14.04 in
early March. I think that's what happened to us, and I guess that Google
has disconnected us because we're running 14.04. If that's right, I sure
wish they'd waited until the next LTS came out.

There was once a reason why I went from Chromium to Chrome, but I no longer
remember what it was. Maybe I should go back. The thing I read about
support said Chromium would be unaffected. And Chromium may have fixed
whatever beef I had with it.
