Guide for making a USB Live System

Hi All,

I asked this here before, but decided to ask again, after I've done some
research...

A guy I know made a GCompris Live CD a while back. It uses syslinux to
boot.

If i burn the ISO to a CDR ot works perfectly. I'ts only 300MB and the
computers I'd like to boot it with have no CD drive.

I tried to dump the ISO on a USB stick using dd, but it won't boot.
UNetBootin didn't work either...

I also tried to run 'isohybrid' on it - but got an error saying the
isolinux used is too old...

I guess I have to extract the contents of the ISO (has syslinux and a live
squashfs in it) and re-create it with the new syslinux as a hybrid ISO...

Can any of you point me to an online step by step tutorial / HOWTO?

Thanks!

Amichai
