Cookies aren't that evil, especially when using Firefox. A lot of
websites use cookies for harmless services.

In Firefox's address bar type

  about:config

then continue and in the search bar type

  google

assumed you want more privacy, then remove all those safe browsing
URL's ;).

Safe browsing is much more critical regarding data mining/offended
privacy, then usage of cookies often is.
