The *ubuntu-restricted-extras depend on the *ubuntu-restricted-addons
packages, so if you have the -extras packages, you should have
everything. And the difference between xubuntu-restricted-addons and
ubuntu-restricted-addons is the package oxideqt-codecs-extra which is
not a recommended package for xubuntu-restricted-addons. But from the
description I wouldn't expect that oxideqt-codecs-extra would help you
with your DVD problem.

As you wrote in the other mail, that you could read other DVDs on your
desktop, I would assume that the problem is a DRM issue of the drive
together with the new DVDs. You could google for the DVD title and the
drive type - perhaps others have a similar problem even with Windows.
