Donald, please describe what you are doing.
Actually you could log in or get access to servers with your old
user name/email address and password. You don't need to and you can't
"register" again, if you are already registered, but you still could
"log in". Your gmail account has absolutely nothing to do with your
Ubuntu install. However, describe exactly what you did before you
upgraded Ubuntu and what you try now.
