> I've recently been looking at libvirt which has a GUI called Virt Manager.

 

virt-manger is excellent and allows setting of many features for guests. 

 

KVM on Ubuntu has been rock solid for me for years, and used in production so runs 24/7. 

 

I install Ubuntu Server and then add the Mate desktop, just to use programs like virt-manager, gparted, and the Disks utility. 

 

And because Mate supports remote desktops through vnc, xrpd, or x2go, etc.
