Exactly.

I even went to some lengths to install it on my Arch Linux system last
week, so I could get on my home Wifi with the minimum of hassle.

The main complaints about NM I hear are from people with horrid broken
or kludged-together network configs, such as people using by-hand
static IP addressing instead of fixed leases in their DHCP server and
other 1980s style nastiness.

If you have a grown-up network, it's not merely OK, it's great.
