The way it is for lightdm on Ubuntu, is the same as it is for rtirq on
Arch Linux.

[rocketmouse at archlinux moonstudio]$ sudo systemd-nspawn -q
[root at moonstudio ~]# lsb_release -r
Release:	16.04
[root at moonstudio ~]# grep Start= /lib/systemd/system/lightdm.service
ExecStart=/usr/sbin/lightdm
[root at moonstudio ~]# logout
[rocketmouse at archlinux moonstudio]$ grep Start= /lib/systemd/system/rtirq.service
ExecStart=/usr/bin/rtirq start

There's nothing strange with it. I guess you misunderstood what was
changed by "sed". Just Ubuntu's rtirq is freakish, even not the upstream
version from Rui is strange, as already pointed out, Rui provides a
systemd unitand keeps the init.d location likely for backwards
compatibility, since on systems that aren't "hybrid", no
systemd-sysv-generator cares about it.
