new to Ubuntu - KDE and 16.04 TLS ?

Hi,

i'm working as a systemadministrator and have some experience with suse, but i'm new to ubuntu.
2 of my colleagues want to have an ubuntu system. I made a download of the new 16.04 and installed the LTS version.
They need a desktop environment and are used to KDE.
Is there a way to have KDE running on ubuntu or should i use kubuntu ?
What is an alternative ? They access the host with ssh and NX. I tried gnome but stumbled over this bug:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=731173. Does anyone know where i can enter this option
"--disable-acceleration-check" ? Because using nx of course i don't have 3d support. 
Sorry for just asking such simple stuff, but i'm normally working on servers with ssh 
and bash and nothing else :-)).
