Yes, it should be. Back up first, though.

I've upgraded 15.10 (x86-64, Unity), 14.04 (x86-64, Unity) & 15.10
(LXDE, Raspberry Pi). All went fine. Minor tweaks needed to re-enable
the Nemo file manager PPA repos and update it on the Unity boxes but
they were working and usable.
