   apt-get source iproute2
   cd iproute2_3.12.0/man/man8
   vi ip.8

The version number might be a bit different of course.

Then find out who maintains iproute2 and send them your changes. They'll
be very grateful!

And in case you think I'm being sarcastic, I'm not. A good man page can
make the difference between a tool languishing in obscurity or becoming
useful to many people.

The man page format is a fairly simple markup language, easily done by
hand though these days there are also tools to help you do it.
