Make sure everything is patched and reboot, sometimes it's just a simple as that. I remember I had this issue a little while back and I seem to remember that a patch fixed it. And a reboot never hurt.

      Running Ubuntu
15.10. I did some updates a couple of days ago. After I rebooted
yesterday, my USB drives are not mounting.

Here is the dmesg | tail -50 after I unplug them and plug them
        back in: http://pastebin.com/4qTp6zUN

Here is the sudo fdisk -l: http://pastebin.com/Mz8T78Aj

Here is the lsusb output: http://pastebin.com/g94u4zUK
      Here is fstab:

        # Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a

        # device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to
        name devices

        # that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).

070b Western Digital Technologies, Inc. My Passport Elite is my
        500 gig drive.

I can't see any USB hard drives or any of my USB thumb drives.
I plug in my phone and it pops open no problem.

I switched where they go into the computer, but no luck. Windows
        10 sees them.

    OK I sudo mkdir /mnt/usb

    Then sudo mount /dev/sdh1 /mnt/usb

Can access the drive no problem. But what is causing it not to
    automount?
