volume past 100% and vol control

I am running 15.10 and with the latest update the volume control behavior
changed.  Before I could use the volume applet to increase the vol past
100%.  I can no longer do that.  The applet control stops at 100.  If I
choose 'Sound Settings' I can up the vol past 100%.  Any suggestions?
