It was 14.04.1. I was surprised also as I thought it was the result of 
some setting I changed. I need to make a small correction to what I said 
above. I said "mouse over", but what I meant was put the pointer on a 
menu and push the button.

I have a laptop I can try it on but it has a touchpad, but I will plug 
my track ball in and try it.
