There are some other environment variables that can matter.  It's
quickest to just try "man --debug linphone", which will give a debug
trace that we can interpret to see what's happening.

Also post the output of "dpkg-query -W linphone", in case it's a bug
with the particular version of the linphone package that you have
installed.
