Nautilus closes instead of minimizing?

Aha - Karl's comments do make sense. The 1st section does seem to be
bookmarks/places and explains why that's where you go to. I do see
Files in the second section. The third section only has Home - NO
minimized windows. I have seen this dozens of times when I right
click. I never clicked on Files or Home in those sections.

BUT - here's where it gets interesting. :-) Karl said all Files ever
did was open home, so I tried it for the first time, and sure enough
it did open a home window. As I had been doing, I minimized it instead
of closing it. I was going to then try the Home below Files, but when
I right clicked again I got a long list of things under Files that I
had NEVER seen before, and these looked like places that I had
minimized! I clicked on one that is NOT a bookmark or place and DID go
there. Then I noticed that several entries were identical. I clicked
on one of them, went there, but CLOSED it instead of minimizing. A rt
click then showed that entry to be missing, so it DOES look like a
list of minimized windows. I still don't get icons with alt-tab, but
do seem to finally have a way of getting to minimized Nautilus
windows- WHEW!

Also, Home no longer appears in the list below Files as it did EVERY
time before - just the list of windows.

My question is why the list never appeared before I once clicked on
Files?

MANY thanks for your info and suggestions!
