Google "could not detach kernel driver" and you may find useful info.
Looks like a permissions problem that can be got around with a udev
rules file. Which according to my reading should already be there - sad
if it's not, since you did everything the right way.

I'm running Nut, but using snmp instead of a direct connect, so not
much help to you.
