Oops, the package search is fishy, when directly selecting Xenial, it
finds the dependencies, too and indeed, 16.04 provides those packages [1].

I'm not willing to search release notes, bug tracker etc. for the OP. However, the hqplayer people seem to support their packages for Ubuntu LTS releases, they at least mention 16.04 and 14.04 LTS.
