It took a long time for the "Automatic" upgrade to 16.04 over the
internet (5 hours if my notes are correct) but should be a normal /
default install. 
I don't know enough to do anything else as you can see from my
questions :D.
The history tab in Ubuntu Software Centre does not even show the
upgrade in August; only updates since then.
Nevertheless 16.04 is working well for all my personal affairs thanks
to all your developers and and others.
