"software" has very limited applications on menus

Its in the whisker menu (uh just realized its Xubuntu not Ubuntu.  This 
is a new install so I have not edited the menu yet.

Someone else suggested I reboot.  I tried that after running, I think 
"sudo apt-get update"  no change in the 'software' program.
