Hi,
that were the links I already provided, but unfortunately those are the
server images. My Ubuntu install was done using a server image, but I
doubt that this is something to Richard's taste.
If you follow the howto, then yes, for 14.04 it also contains the desktop
images and the howto even contains a link that leads to the parent directory
of the links Oli provided (not quoted below), I didn't notice it, but used
the parent directory of the other link, since for 14.04 it contains the
desktop images, too, but not for 16.04{,.01}/xenial.
