You could also look at thinlink, at www.cendio.com. But that is VNC-based

All of which RDP has/does. Not sure how good the crypto is.
It's not that I don't want any software on the client end; I understand that you need *something*. But it would be nice if that something were an RDP client, because most Windows people already have it.
