is this a Ubuntu fresh install?

Maybe this help:

apt-get install linux-generic linux-image-generic linux-headers-generic 
linux-signed-generic

Then
apt-get purge virtualbox*
apt-get install virtualbox-5.0


there are a lot of information on google[1]. Did you try?
