Tourette :D? It's not the first time you behave like this.
I'm just subscribed since a short time, however, within this time you
didn't contribute something useful, I'm quite sure I already did.
And now again something useful:
- If you want to mount devices at startup use fstab, do not use desktop
environment related apps.
- To use fstab read the Ubuntu help, do not copy mtab entries, they are
not equal to fstab entries.
- Note, just because a device can be mounted in different ways, doesn't
mean that each way is the right way for each reason to mount a device.
- Mount by UUID at startup and nothing else, unless you are sure
that other ways to mount are really ok too.
- Drives mounted at startup from time to time should automatically run
fsck https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fsck
Since you call me names, prove the above hints wrong Dave! If you can't
prove them wrong, do newbies a favour and shut up.
Do you think it's good, if newbies do something wrong?
I only explained why users should consider to use fstab to mount devices
at startup.
If you think that it's a good idea to use a GNOME program, instead of
fstab, then please take the time to at least edit the Ubuntu help (and
perhaps the Arch Wiki too, since both were linked). If the Ubuntu help
page (others from the list and I are mistaken) correct it, instead of
call somebody names.
Maybe you want to edit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fstab too.
Note, most users search the archive, before they send requests to the
mailing list. It's important to correct something that wrongly is
flagged as solved and available by the archive.
