grub---problem

Used Live CD of 14.04 for my 14.04 instalation, read details from GNU GRUB
Manual, I used the command  (sudo grub-install /dev/sda) and I got this
messg.
(installing for i386-pc platform.
grub-install:  error: failed to get canonical path of '/cow' )
Where can I get this cow ??
