As a last resort, maybe, but I did pay money for it and it's well
within the warranty period.  Aside from this glitch, it seems to be a
nice drive.

Plus I can't get it refunded or replaced under the warranty without
giving them back the drive, and I won't do that (personal info on it I
can't erase).  Lesson learned, and it may cost me the price of the
drive.  Foo.
