I guess we should mention that Ubuntu flavours < 15.04 by default do
not use systemd.

15.04 and 15.10 by default use systemd, but they are still hybrids with
init scripts. However, systemd does not use the old "run level stuff".

IOW how to disable services for 14.04 now, using upstart, will be
completely different to the next LTS, 16.04 Xenial Xeru and also run
levels will not remain the same.
