Dell 15 5000 series Laptops (SOLVED)

I decided to buy the computer since it has the Intel chipset.
The Laptop is  Dell Inspron 15 5558.  It is a Costco coupon special. 
After looking at Windows 8.1 for a while, I loaded a live Mint/Mate DVD. 
Every thing I checked worked including the WiFi.  I did not check the 
camera or the microphones but some news audio played OK.

I removed the Windows Drive and installed a 250 GB SSD.  F12 gave access 
to the BIOS setup.  I tried for quite a while to get the EFI boot to 
work.  I gave up and tried the legacy method which worked the first 
time.  To get it to boot in the legacy mode I did the following
in the BIOS:

Turned off the secure boot
Turned off the fast boot
Turned on the legacy boot
Turned on the legacy ROM
Changed the SSD partition table back to msdos
Installed from the live system.
Rebooted
