12.04 update breaks video

I seem to have all 3 -
/usr/share/app-install/desktop/kubuntu-restricted-extras.desktop
/usr/share/app-install/desktop/ubuntu-restricted-extras.desktop
/usr/share/app-install/desktop/xubuntu-restricted-extras.desktop

something about the update broke it. Was working fine before, so I
assume the above were there before updating.
