Good point.

But if the computer load is configured to shut down on loss of mains
power to the UPS and the phone system is either not configured to
respond at all or to respond to a later low-standby signal, you get the
best of both worlds. The computer will shut down as soon as mains power
is lost, and the phones will continue until the standby power is
low/exhausted.

Not too bad a setup for a small shop.
