Sound in Videos Player

Hi friends,

A weird problem:

Suddenly, after one of the last updates, the sound in the built in Videos
Player stopped working.

I am running Ubuntu 14.04 on a Lenovo B50-70. It isn't a general problem,
because:

Sound Test in the Sound Settings works
Sound in the Browser (Youtube) works
Sound in VLC - also *doesn't* work
Happens with different file formats

And no - the sound isn't muted in the player or the system sound.... :-)

Any pointers?
