This may be a coincidence or unrelated or whatever but, ...

I am trying to install xubuntu on a 64 bit computer that has a windows 7
trial os on it (expired). I downloaded the mini.iso file from the
xubuntu site, burned it to a cd, booted up with the cd, up came a text
screen, as expected. The first screen accepted commands from the
keyboard and the mouse pointer moved correctly. When I selected install
or another selection, the screen changed and the keyboard and mouse
stopped working. The inst said to use tab find a selection, space to
select it and enter to execute it. Nothing. I rebooted. same
response. I tried the M$ solution, reinstall the operating system (of
course in this case it is the same as rebooting :) ), same response.
Keyboard and mouse are PS2. I have been using the same kb/mouse with
another xubuntu 14.04 LTS for a long time - no problem.

John
