I just want to say, +10000 to this. We use Amanda at work, and use it to 
back up our client data as well. It's incredibly easy to use, and can be 
configured to do everything from backing up to tape, to backing up to a 
network resource, to backing up to an Amazon S3 instance. This is VERY 
well written, and very easy to use and understand.
