Did you run it through the check utility first to check the image is
ok.  As soon as it boots you should see a keyboard icon at the bottom
of the screen, hit a key and it will give you some options, including
check files.

Assuming the check passes ok there is no way it should be asking for a
password.  Can you describe what the the screen looks like?  Even
better photograph it with your phone and put it somewhere we can see.
I am particularly confused by the fact that you say it asks for
password *then* user, but it should not be asking at all.
