How to disable certain keys

The answer to this question depends on the details of the software you're
using. I'm an xfce4 user so my solution may not work for you, but the same
general approach may be achievable.
I'm mainly concerned with the caps lock key, which was useful 40 years ago
on real typewriters, but now is just a nuisance. I turn it into my
"compose" key to allow me to make special characters with just a few
keystrokes. For instance, on my machine <cap lock>e= produces €, the euro
symbol. Fortunately, accidental presses of the compose key usually don't
do anything strange unless you follow it with one of the special sequences
it recognizes.

I expect there are similar guides for whatever setup you may have. Once
you've fooled with the caps-lock key, you'll probably understand how this
works well enough to do what you want with the other keys.
