So far I have used TP-Link TL-WN821N and TL-WDN3200. If the second one 
is not supported by the standard kernel of 12.04 (I can't check it as 
I'm on 14.04) you could install the HWE kernel instead. The package name 
should be something like "linux-generic-lts-trusty".
