Hi Bret,

that's a good point of view. However, if you backup your data and
first make tests by copying data, then you sometimes could risk to
share data.

I build a Claws from git package for my Uubntu install a few minutes ago
and then copied data from my Arch Linux install. On Arch an older git
version of the same major release is installed.

If nothing strange should happen, I will replace the copied data with
links.

[weremouse at moonstudio ~]$ dpkg -s claws | grep V
Version: 3.12.0-37-g8d1abd-1
[weremouse at moonstudio ~]$ sudo systemd-nspawn -D /mnt/
[snip]
[root at mnt ~]# pacman -Q claws-mail-git
claws-mail-git 3.12.0.r6.g897a5ed-1
[snip]
[weremouse at moonstudio ~]$ cp -pri /mnt/home/rocketmouse/Claws\ Mail/ .
[weremouse at moonstudio ~]$ cp -pri /mnt/home/rocketmouse/.claws-mail/ .
[weremouse at moonstudio ~]$ claws-mail
selecting folder '#mh/Claws Mail/The shared'

Not even a single warning :).

Regards,
Ralf
