Hehe - just like me - a glutton for punishment :) But I _do_ understand
this. That is a commendable attitude, I was just pointing out that if
the upgrade got interrupted there might be _a lot_ of things that would
need fixing, and you might not even know about them until something
bites you.

Then you should try the parameters I mentioned above. Something like
"apt-get install --reinstall python2.7 python2.7-dev python3.4", or
whatever version you have installed, and proceed from there.
