MS Powerpoint presentation under Windows @ Vbox @ Ubuntu

If I  were you, I would simply use the Libre Office package 'Presentations'. 
You can simply import, edit and export .ppt files to, in and from Libre Office 
Presentations. It is quite well possible that your resolution problem will be 
solved as well - simply by using Libre Office Presentations @ Ubuntu 14.04.
When using a beamer, you can use Libre Office and any other Ubuntu 
package. By doing so, you would avoid a lot of VBOX/ Windows complication.
