As I recall when I upgraded the HWE, I ran the same issue where I think
there were a couple of packages that either didn't get upgraded, or were
newly installed but shouldn't have been. I think the issue was with the
packages libxrandr* and libglamor*, but I can't be sure. Anyway, my
system works with this set of packages in a Virtualbox VM.
