Get a different device - an IPad, another laptop, a phone - and see if
you can get a wireless connection. If you CAN'T then the new router is
probably faulty. If you CAN, then the Toshi is probably faulty.

If it doesn't work with Linux but it does work with Windows, it means
the vendor-written Windows drivers are working around defects in the
wifi firmware.

Since this is a NEW LAPTOP, it should be covered by warranty. Take no
prisoners, accept no excuses!Working wifi, with Linux, or full refund.
There is no excuse for wifi not working with ANY operating system.
