I was able to make the file executable as you said by (right click -
<properties> permissions, check the executable box,)

However the file is not executing. It is still coming up in Gedit as before even though the box is checked.
Can I choose a different program to "open with" and if so which would I use?

I will continue working on this throughout the day. I hope to get it working.
I have always been a fan of TOR and used it exclusively when I used Microsoft Windows.
I am willing to give it up to be able to use Linux but maybe I wont have to.
