Evolution takes 3+ minutes to shutdown

Sorry no I'm not running gnome because I became disgusted with what was
done to it. Evolution was constantly taking an age to start up and shut
down. Sometimes with my net book it never started up at all. Totally
unacceptable.
I just tested the Evolution shut down on this machine and it was more or
less instant, certainly less than half a second. Starting it up again
was several seconds.
I don't think your problem is the fault of Evolution, I reckon it's the
desktop. I'm using Mate.
