Worse problem with upgrading 12.04 to 14.04

Agreed.  This was the first time I tried an upgrade since I stopped
using CentOS four years ago, and it was a miserable flop.  When I went
from 10.10 to 12.04, I re-installed, and that's what worked for me
this time.  It's a pain, but it works.
