That did not appear to be happening.  gkrellm is watching that, and the 
cpu display was not particularly busy.

I got the impression that okular was fighting with gs, trying to make it 
read more file and render it, and failing.

Ghostscript is a completely different beast from the series of 5.x.x that 
I compiled on my old Amiga A2000-040 20 years ago, and I have no clue if 
its memory demands were being ignored or what.  Looking at pre-crash 
/var/log/messages, there didn't seem to be any alarm bells prior to the 
takedown.

It may also have something to with me trying to get nut properly 
configured.  Man pages seem to be missing. uspd and upsmon are running, 
the the web pages contents while titled, are blank, so its not getting out 
someplace yet.
