You can do one or two things. You can increase the size of your hard drive or boot partition if you created one, or, remove the older versions of the kernel and update grub. #sudo update-grub.

Subject: Installing updates
I am trying to update 14.04 with the Software Updater. It complains
there is not enough room in /boot
There are a number of copies of initrd.img-3.13.0-xx-generic where xx
can be 24,34,35,36.
Can I remove the older versions of this file?
Is there any utility which will enable me to remove all unwanted files
from /boot
Regards
Peter Goggin
