I charge my S4 from my desktop all the time. Just use the charging cable
that came with it, minus the plug of course, plug in the phone. A pop up
asks if I want to open it with shotwell, 'X' it out. Two camera icons
show up on desktop and it's also seen by Nautilus. Realize the charging
is not part of the question above but wanted to mention that is an
option. Clicking on either the desktop icons or in Nautilus opens up
either the micro sd or the phone storage.
