You could always install Astro File Manager with SMB. Then you can access
your desktop with Samba shares. That, of course, will only allow you to
transfer files back and forth. If you're looking at contacts and such, you
should probably have your phone sync'd with a Google account...at which
point you can gain access to your contacts via Gmail.
