Installing Ubuntu on ACER Aspire Revo R3610 and R1600

Hi!

I have a bootable USB stick (Ubuntu 14.04) which the both Revos detect as
'bootable'. After choosing the 'USB Stick' option. all I get is a blinking
cursor.

Any ideas how to proceed from here?
